Before we start

Thank you for applying to take part in Guy's Cancer Charity Abseil.

The minimum fundraising pledge is £300 per person and there is a £35 per person registration fee. Registration fees are non-refundable.

I understand that I am taking a place in this event with the intention of generating a fundraising profit for Guys Cancer Charity and will inform the event organisers immediately if I am unable to take part in the event or meet the fundraising pledge. *

We want to make sure that you have all the information you need to get ready for your activity. By registering, you’re agreeing to us contacting you for the following purposes:

- We’ll email you to share event day information, fundraising advice and training tips, plus information to help you to your fundraising target for this activity.
- From time to time, we might also text you to share important event information, and call you to make sure you have everything you need for your event.
- We’ll use your postal address to send you a handy information pack and event materials and a letter to say thank you.

Now more than ever, flexible charitable funding is vital and will allow us to have the greatest impact. The funds you raise will help to make possible exceptional care and surroundings. Are you happy for us to use your fundraising in the most impactful way? *

Some employers are willing to match some or all of your fundraising through a matched giving scheme which means the charity gets more donations at no extra cost! Are you eligible for a matched giving scheme? Speak to someone in your HR or finance team. *

Terms and conditions

I accept and agree to the following and to all of the 'The Charity' Participant Conditions of entry below. 

I note that 'The Charity' has advised individual target sponsorship is at least �300. This does not include the registration fee or gift aid. 

I agree that neither 'The Charity' nor the organiser shall be liable for my death, personal injury or any loss or damage sustained by me as a consequence of my participation in the Abseil 2024, except to the extent that the same is caused by negligence. 

I am currently sufficiently well and medically fit to participate in the Event. I will consult with my doctor if I am concerned about my ability to take part in the Event.

I will adhere to any guidance relating to health, age, sponsorship or other matters issued by the organisers or 'The Charity'.

Should I for any reason decide not to, or be unable to, either take up or use a place allocated to me, I will inform 'The Charity' immediately and return all fundraising materials to 'The Charity'.

If I do not take part in the Event, 'The Charity' cannot accommodate return of the sponsorship monies, but 'The Charity' may consider rollover your sponsorship monies, excluding registration fee, to a future event with �The Charity�.

I understand that �The Charity� may use a photographer to film and capture images at the Event. I consent to The Charity, and all of its authorised third parties, using any or all of this material for fundraising and promotional purposes. 

I further consent to The Charity using my image and name in press releases immediately following the event.

I agree that my registration fee is not refundable in the event that I am unable to take part through injury or for any other reason (aside from reasons outlined below). 

COVID-19

I understand that this event may be postponed or cancelled at short notice in line with government guidelines and changing coronavirus restrictions.

In the event of postponement, The Charity, will make every effort to move all event participants to the rescheduled date. Where the event is cancelled or postponed due to coronavirus restrictions, refunds on registration fees will be available and requests must be submitted in writing to events@guyscancercharity.org.uk

I agree that I will adhere to government guidelines while attending the event and that I will not attend if I, or someone I have been in recent contact with, is displaying coronavirus symptoms.
